We are excited to announce that we have been awarded further restoration works at Peterborough Palace, a significant part of the historic Peterborough Cathedral complex. This project is another step in our ongoing commitment to preserving the architectural legacy of this renowned site. With a focus on both structural integrity and craftsmanship, our team is prepared to tackle the essential restoration tasks ahead.

Project Overview:

Our work at Peterborough Palace will focus on restoring and enhancing key structural elements, ensuring the long-term durability and historical accuracy of the building. The scope of works includes:

  1. Stripping of Existing Sand Cast Lead Gutters, Flashings, and Aprons: We will carefully strip away the existing leadwork from the gutters, flashings, and aprons. This step is critical to preparing the site for new materials that will better serve the building’s needs while respecting its original architectural features.
  2. Timber Repairs and Replacements: In addition to the leadwork, various timber elements will be repaired or replaced as necessary. Our skilled craftsmen will ensure that the timber repairs are performed with precision, maintaining both the structural soundness and historical integrity of the building.
  3. Supply and Install New Code 7 Sand Cast Lead Gutters, Code 6 Lead Flashings, and Aprons: Once the old materials are removed, we will supply and install new Code 7 sand cast lead gutters, along with Code 6 lead flashings and aprons. These materials are chosen for their durability and aesthetic compatibility with the historic structure.
  4. Various Lead Repairs to Other Areas: In addition to the primary work, we will perform various lead repairs throughout other areas of the building to ensure comprehensive restoration and protection against future wear and tear.
